Research

My research in this field focuses on how different religious actors (organizations, groups, individuals, narratives, and symbols) use emerging technologies, including aritificial intelligence (AI), robots, virtual reality (VR), in everyday religious practices.

My projects under this theme explore the AI and digital technologies practices in China's journalism industry. I focues on AI news presenters and digital news consumptions in Chinese newsrooms.

I study Chinese platforms' privacy and data practices in post-socialist China, as well as how China develops its digital strategy as a global intiative to build global platforms. 

I explore how gender and family values shape the media representations of women in post-socialist China, with a focus on elder sisters and middle-aged female celebrities.
